Chris

Hello everybody, and welcome to TechStuff. My name is Chris Paulette and I’m an editor here at HowStuffWorks.com. Sitting across from me, as always, is Senior Writer Jonathan Strickland.

Jonathan

Hey there Crispy! Insert coin.

Chris

I’m sorry?

Jonathan

That’s great. Chris here unfortunately has a bit of a chest cough.

Chris

Yes.

Jonathan

and so when I catch him off guard like that, his bronchial tubes all protest at the same time, just like our listeners.

Chris

Yes, you can hear a thousand tiny alveoli screaming at once.

Jonathan

And then we’re suddenly silenced?

Chris

Yes.

Jonathan

That’s tragic. So the reason why I said “insert coin” in the first place was not to make Chris fall over, but was a cheap segue way into our topic, which is video game consoles.

Chris

Yay. Which don’t require coins.

Jonathan

No, but -

Chris

Well, they do. A whole lot of coins.

Jonathan

That’s right baby. So you guys who have been with us the whole time may remember a long, long time ago – in a galaxy far, far away – we talked about video game consoles, but that was like our seventh episode. That was back when we did episodes that lasted five minutes.

Chris

And we talked like the guy from the micro machines commercials.

Jonathan

Right, and currently we do episodes that range about as long as your average German opera. So we felt it was about time to go back and revisit – I’m sorry, Chris just totally lost it and that finally cracked me up.

Chris

More tea.

Jonathan

But we thought we would go back and visit the episode and kind of talk a little bit more about consoles, especially after getting a couple of iTunes review where people said we were lame because we don’t cover gaming enough.

Chris

You know, we’re not a gaming podcast. Not to argue with you. I’m just saying we’re not a gaming podcast. We have to cover other stuff.

Jonathan

News break. We are not a gaming podcast, but we do sometimes cover gaming because it falls under the umbrella of tech, but we’re not exclusively about gaming, so that’s why you’re not going to hear that many episodes.

Chris

So please feel free to write two-star reviews about how we never talk about digital cameras.

Jonathan

Please don’t. If you’re going to write a review, make it positive. I know StuffYouShouldKnow said they wanted more reviews, but they wanted people to be honest. Give me a one star review if you really don’t like it and tell us why. I’m telling you, our listeners, don’t do that. Leave us five-star reviews. I don’t care if you tell us why. Oka
