I don’t care about the UFOs, but I’d love to drive Extraterrestrial Highway in South-Central Nevada for the nothingness.

Route 375 was renamed Extraterrestrial Highway in 1996 to attract alien-loving tourists. It leads to Area 51, where the military mysteriously tests aircraft and weapons, and pilots regularly make ka-boom sounds with their jets by breaking the sound barrier. And then, you know, you might see an alien fly through the sky.

Hey there, folks. Recently we did a live podcast at the SXSW Interactive Festival in lovely Austin, Texas. it was our first live gig so we decided to do something that most people probably find pretty fascinating — UFOs. I made a remark that I believed that there is intelligent life somewhere else aside from planet Earth. Since then I’ve gotten a lot of guff in email and on the Facebook page from skeptics. They all generally send the same quotes from the same people with the familiar refrain that the burden of proof is on me, the believer.

Here’s something that maybe not many of you might know — there have been two presidents of the United States that have seen a UFO. True! It turns out that both Reagan and Carter claimed to have seen UFOs before they were in the Oval Office.

Since 2002, Gary McKinnon has fought extradition from the United Kingdom to the United States to face charges that he infiltrated and manipulated the computer systems of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and NASA. In 2007, British courts denied an appeal. But Jacqui Smith, the home secretary who made that decision, is no longer in office and two other judges are reviewing the decision.

I didn’t get to see much “Doctor Who” when I as a kid. It aired on PBS during the much-coveted time slots of during church, past my bedtime and (at least at the start) before I was born. So I had to go back to all those time-traveling stories full of companions, aliens and very long scarves much later.
