Ever since we launched the FanStuff blog back in the spring of ’09 — and especially since it turned into the kind of two-person operation you can hear in most of our podcasts — the question we’ve gotten most often is when we’re going to get a podcast. I’m delighted to say that HowStuffWorks now has a pop culture podcast: PopStuff, co-hosted by me and Holly Frey. You probably can’t tell from my typing, but I’m basically beside myself with excitement. I can also anticipate a few questions, so here’s a PopStuff FAQ.
Former Sorority Girl Braves Dragon*Con, Feels the Love
by Katie Lambert | September 20, 2010
When Sarah and I were asked to speak at Dragon*Con on a podcast panel with Jonathan and Chris of TechStuff, we jumped at the chance. Sarah wrote a great post about steampunk’s connections to the green movement, but what fascinated me most was the costuming — and the meaning behind the pageantry.
HowStuffWorks.com Podcasters Take to the Stage at Dragon*Con 2010
by Tracy V. Wilson | September 3, 2010
If you follow along with FanStuff, you know I love Dragon*Con. I love the excitement of all the fans, whether they’re waiting to see the stars of their favorite shows, recreating costumes with painstaking detail or debating the plot twists of the latest episode, issue or installment in a fan panel. This year, I’m doubly excited — HowStuffWorks.com is having a panel as part of Podcasting Now and Beyond, the Dragon*Con podcast track. It’s particularly amazing since the podcasting track has such a great history of hosting amazing panels full of terrific podcasters. All of us are honored and excited. Find out the whens and wheres after the jump.
In this podtastic episode, Jonathan and Chris explore how podcasting works. Tune in as they touch on everything from how TechStuff got its start to tips for listeners who want to become podcasters themselves.
