Try to go shopping for any girl between the ages of say 2 years old and 10 and you’ll find a very common theme: pink. Who knew there were so many shades (other than the folks at Crayola)? OK, you’ll also find variations on the color purple and maybe some hints of aqua (the GIRLIEST blue) thrown in for good measure, but pink definitely reigns supreme. Why is that?
There’s lots of smartphone stuff going on these days. We’ll go chronologically. On Thursday, Apple’s set to announce its iPhone OS 4.0. There aren’t many details yet, though of course, that hasn’t stopped anyone from speculating. That’s fueled by Apple’s announcement Monday, described by CNET’s Erica Ogg as an HTML e-mail message inviting reporters to see what the future of the iPhone OS will look like.

In case you didn’t hear the scuttlebutt, on Monday BusinessWeek reported that Verizon and Apple had entered talks regarding a potential partnership. The goal of this alliance? To develop two new gadgets for the market. According to the article, one of these devices is a cell phone device that many are now calling the “iPhone lite.” The second device is the rumored tablet people have been buzzing about for the last few weeks.
