‘Wild’ Things: I Don’t Think it Means What You Think it Means

Last night, abandoning practicality in favor of a movie I’ve been eagerly waiting for, I went to a midnight showing of “Where the Wild Things Are.” In the weeks leading up to this movie, I’ve spent a lot of time watching trailers and clips, looking at stills and listening to the soundtrack, in part to write about it in this blog. Based on all of that, I was ready for a movie that was whimsical, exuberant and bittersweet.
Here’s where the spoilers start.
If you’ve been following Nathan Fillion on Twitter, you might have noticed his advice back in May on how to tell whether your date is a robot: “Go to see Pixar’s UP. If your date doesn’t cry, robot.”
I’m pretty sure that same rule is going to apply to “Where the Wild Things Are,” which opens in U.S. theaters on Oct. 16.
