If your car is less than 10 years old, it is almost certain to have a cabin air filter. These filters remove contaminants from the air running through the car’s heating and cooling system to take out dust, pollen, soot, etc. before it gets to the passenger compartment.

These filters should be replaced once a year. Every car is different, but the filters can usually be found somewhere behind or underneath the glove compartment on the passenger side of the vehicle. This video shows typical placement in a Nissan vehicle:
