A favorite trick of street magicians is human levitation. In the standard presentation, the street magician is able to levitate about 3 inches off the ground. Apparently this can be quite convincing to the audience, as demonstrated here:

Here is how the 3-inch levitation is done:

But David Blaine is sometimes pictured getting up to 12 inches of levitation, with both feet clearly and undeniably off the ground, as seen in this clip:

How do they do it? This video explains both the technique and the deception:

What we learn from that clip is that, on television, anything goes. They can cheat in any way they like. So if you are going to cheat, why not go all the way? Like this:
