Cool article here from Popular Science, a great site if you haven’t checked it out. A “friend” of the Web site decided to separate scotch whiskey into it’s different components so he could taste the individual notes. They cranked up an evaporator that “uses a process of vacuum distillation at room temperature to separate liquids based on their relative volatility.”
Cheaters More Likely to Rebound in Dating

Ah, the rebound relationship. Many of us have become embroiled in them, despite their negative reputation as throwaway relationships we jump into in order to get over past partners. University of Oregon physicist Richard Taylor must have woken up this morning knowing he’d make the science new cycle. Perhaps even the bona fide news cycle, where people like Pippa Middleton are discussed. Just yesterday, the gag was lifted on reporters publicly discussing Taylor’s most recent paper on crop circles. The topic is guaranteed to make headlines, of course, which makes me just another pathetic lackey for the fat cat academia propaganda machine since I’m writing about it too.
