OK, so this isn’t exactly camping. After all, there are “luxurious bathrooms” on the premises, according to Treehugger. But this isn’t like sleeping at the Days Inn, either. Your “room” will be a delightfully revamped vintage camper or a cabin. Your “great outdoors” will be the inside of an old vacuum-cleaner factory.
Berlin’s Hotel Huttenpalast opened in June. Its founders wanted the boutique hotel to be the kind of place where guests could mingle — kind of like you would at a campsite. And they wanted to keep the architecture of the building as-is — no breaking up this factory into boxy hotel rooms. So, they came up with the idea to build in little cabins and set up kitschy campers within the warehouse walls.
For a camper or a cabin, you’ll pay about $100 a night, according to the Guardian, which is pretty affordable. And if you’d prefer a private room rather than a camper, there are six of those on the property, as well. The hotel is located in the trendy Neukolln district of Berlin.
