Your other half wants to go somewhere romantic for Valentine’s (yes, yes she does), and for goodness sake, February is so gloomy — you two should get outta here!
Here’s a list of the top 10 most romantic cities in the United States, per Travel + Leisure’s “America’s Favorite Cities” survey:
1. Honolulu
2. Savannah, Ga.
3. Charleston, S.C.
4. San Juan, Puerto Rico
5. Santa Fe, N.M.
6. San Francisco
7. San Diego
8. New Orleans
9. Portland, Maine
10. Portland, Ore.
Click on each of the cities in the survey to help you nail down the perfect destination for you and your significant other. For example, if you want ethnic cuisine, Charleston’s cup doesn’t exactly runneth over with it, according to the results, but if you want friendly people and a great B&B, it’s the perfect spot. If you like to bar hop, Santa Fe might not be your scene. If you like peace and quiet, it absolutely is. New Orleans isn’t the cleanest, but the people-watching is fantastic. And, did you know that the folks in San Diego are uber attractive?
