The ultimate gaming rig now features three 1080p displays running 3D – 750 million pixels/second

Movies aren’t the only thing going 3D. NVIDIA has been hyping its 3D gaming features in 2010. Its latest graphics card can now support multiple monitors in 3D – It is called 3D Vision Surround. You can see a demo of the three-screen rig at the end of this video:

The beginning of the video is an excellent explanation of tessellation, and then the 3D Vision Surround demo begins at 3:40.

In order for this to work, you need two GTX 480 cards hooked together with SLI, and three monitors. You can roll your own, or you can now find OEMs selling complete 3D Vision Surround systems as turnkey packages, like this:
