This is a really interesting video that explains the creation of the Taj Mahal:

The video contains a number of fun facts about this amazing structure, including:
- The Taj Mahal was built as a mausoleum (click the link for a fun fact about the word “mausoleum”).
- It was started in 1631 and took 21 years to build
- 20,000 people worked on the construction
- The soil on the side, being along a river, is unstable. But the building has lased over 400 years because of the foundation
- The interior of the structure is crude brick, covered in a veneer of marble.
