The following video shows off a new species of energy efficient robotic fish, capable of swimming using only 10 milliwatts of electricity:
According to this page, a single alkaline AA battery produces 1.5 volts and, say, 2000 mAh. In other words, the battery is good for 3,000 milliwatt-hours. A 10 milliwatt fish could operate for 300 hours (12.5 days) off a single AA cell.
Obviously you could use realistic versions of these fish (covered in silicone for example) to create a robotic fish aquarium. Another possibility – imagine a swimming pool that contains hundreds of robotic fish that school and do all sorts of other interesting things to entertain swimmers.
