And a fine how do you do to you and yours. Here I am prepping to go out of town on a bona-fide vacation and yet the podcast goodness recap must happen. Yes, this time next week the wife and I will be winding down from a week in San Francisco and Napa Valley wine country. It can’t get here soon enough, but fear not — we pre-recorded so you’ll never know I was gone.

This week on the Stuff You Should Know podcast program, Mr. Clark and myself got a little environmental before going fascist on you. Tuesday’s show was all about carbon trading. Some of you have already replied “well, it sounded boring but it turned out to be cool.” We love hearing this. Yes it doesn’t sound too exciting, but it is worth talking about. We also covered carbon offsets like Terrapass and the like. We think these are all good programs, but some new initiatives and some genuine conservation is what we really need.

Yesterday was a short one on fascism. We covered the big boys in Mussolini and Hitler, of course, but also really tried to focus on what the whole movement was all about. Good thing for Germany and Italy (and the rest of the world) fascism was a big old failure. These days the word gets tossed around a lot, but people are generally way off when they use it to describe everything from an American president to the math teacher assigning too much home work. FASCIST!!
