Last week on TechStuff, Chris and I talked about some of our favorite things. No, we didn’t talk about raindrops on roses or whiskers on kittens (though I do adore them so). We talked about some of our favorite technology Easter eggs on Wednesday and tech movies on Friday.
Easter eggs are those hidden features you can find in everything from DVDs to computer hardware. They are little treats left by designers, engineers and programmers. They can take the form of a joke, of bonus content or a secret message left for particularly snoopy people. Chris and I each list some of our favorite examples. Feel free to mention your own!
Our tech movies podcast was serious business. We debate the value of films that have helped shape our perspective on technology. What is its role in humanity? Are we too dependent upon technology? What happens when things go wrong? And which is the better film, Back to the Future II or Back to the Future III? Hint: It’s the one with cowboys in it.
Since recording the tech movie episode, my Netflix queue has grown significantly. Listeners have submitted their own favorites in e-mail to us and I realize that I have some catching up to do. For example, have you guys heard about this new movie called Avatar? It looks like I really need to see that.
