Today is the deadline to get your message on the KEO time capsule satellite

For most of the last decade, organizers have been trying to launch a time capsule satellite that would return to earth in 50,000 years. The name of the satellite is KEO. Here is a description of the satellite:

The satellite will carry several things, but one interesting aspect is a set of messages, stored on glass CDs, from earth’s inhabitants. Anyone can contribute any message they like, up to 6,000 characters. Today, according to Wikipedia, is the deadline for your submission.

Every person is invited to write a message addressed to the future inhabitants—the deadline is 31 December 2009. Messages can be posted via the project’s website…
