Today’s inspirational moment #100 – A 13-foot-long radio-controlled SR-71

The following video shows a radio-controlled jet airplane that is a replica of an SR-71. The plane is about 13 feet long – gigantic for a radio-controlled airplane (see the biggest RC airplane here). It uses small jet engines like these. And the thing flies:

The Sled

The plane depicted is 13 feet long. On 11/11/2009 he estimates speeds up to 175 MPH. On 11/30/2008 the jet engines are installed. And so on. It is an amazing amount of work and skill going into the plane. There is a whole community of people doing this kind of stuff.
