Listen to High Speed Stuff on iTunes
Well, it’s time for another High Speed Stuff wrap-up. And here’s what Ben and I have been up to on our High Speed Stuff podcast over the past few days…
Early this week we had a conversation about motorcycles. Yeah, I know. Finally, right? Over the past few weeks, a lot of listeners have been asking us to do a podcast on motorcycles. And while our first motorcycle podcast just scratches the surface of the topic (really just covering some of the basics), we promise that we’ll try to get some more in-depth motorcycle content in to the mix whenever we can. You’ve got to begin somewhere, and we felt that starting at the very dawn of motorcycle history was the best place to do that. Can you imagine what it must have been like to ride a coal-fired, steam-powered motorcycle? Of course, we also talk a little bit about modern bikes and the level of coordination and skill it takes to navigate a motorcycle on today’s roads. Anyway, we had a good time talking about motorcycles and I think you’ll enjoy listening to this episode.
On Thursday, we took to the air. Well, not literally. But we did talk about helicopters and the history of vertical flight. Just a few years after the Wright brothers made their historic first airplane flight at Kitty Hawk, N. C., in 1903, a Frenchman successfully got his helicopter up and off the ground (just barely, but it still counts). Things moved rather quickly from that point forward thanks to some of the advancements that were made during World War I. And now, modern helicopters are some of the most advanced flying machines to occupy the air. There’s no doubt that the history of helicopter flight takes some interesting twists and turns along the way. Ben and I had fun talking about it, and I bet you’ll enjoy hearing what we have to say.
So that’s what’s happening on the High Speed Stuff podcast this week. And I think now might be a good time for you to head over to iTunes and give it a listen — it won’t cost you anything. While you’re there, just don’t forget to take the opportunity to browse through some of our older episodes and give us a little feedback. You can also let us know what you think in the comment section below, or if you’d rather send us an e-mail, you can do that, too. Ben always reads the address at the end of each podcast.

Just listened to the motorcycle podcast and thought you
may want to look into the best motorcycle race ever. The isle of Mann tt is held each year and is one of the most amazing motorcycle events to watch. Sport bikes catching air while hitting speeds close to 200 mph on narrow city street! I’d love to hear a podcast on that event!
