Today’s question (as it often is) was inspired by something that I noticed on my way into work early this morning. This time it wasn’t anything exotic or especially flashy that caught my eye. In fact, it was a rather ordinary car that attracted my attention today — but one that holds a lot of memories.

The car was a late 1980s Chevrolet Celebrity — the same car that my high school used to “officially” teach us to drive. Not the exact car, of course, but one that looked just like it. That summer my school had a whole fleet of brand new Chevy Celebrities (somehow), and while they may not have been anything special to look at, they weren’t particularly ugly, either. Remember, we’re talking about the late ’80s. It could have been worse — much worse. Anyway, it got the job done, and that’s what’s important, right? And now, anytime I see one of these cars on the road (which isn’t very often anymore) my mind immediately goes to the summer I spent in driver’s ed. Which isn’t really a bad thing — looking back, that was a pretty good summer.

So, here’s what I was wondering: Do you remember the car that you drove in your driver’s education class? And do you have any memories attached to that specific type of car? It doesn’t matter if the car was good, bad or even ugly, I’d like to know.
