Welcome, friends — hope everyone had a swell week.
Dr. Clark and I had a lovely time here at HSW HQ. We laid down a couple of groovy podcasts (if I do say so myself) about rigor mortis and buying local and/or organic food.
As far as the rigor mortis show goes, can I just say two words? RADIUS AND ULNA. Yes folks, I’m sure you’ve noticed that Josh spaced out on the lower arm bones when he was referencing the crucifixion of Jesus. That happens sometimes and we’d rather press on when we record rather than stop the mojo and look everything up. Luckily, we have an international coalition of field reporters at the ready to let us know when we’ve missed something, and boy-oh-boy did we hear about this one. Also – the heart is NOT a smooth muscle as Josh contended. But in all fairness, his is smoother than most mortals. Thanks for all who wrote in with these corrections — now please stop.
Local or organic? We say both if you can swing it. This turned out to be way fuller of information than we anticipated. We talked about the 100 mile diet, farm co-ops, farmer’s markets and the FDA. We were even able to not so subtly plug my wife’s natural body product line, loveyourmama.com, which was pretty funny. Actually, we also plugged my friend Debbie’s awesome Web site — freakgirl.com. So not only was it chock full of info, but it was a good chance to spread the word of the talents of people we love. Goodness indeed!
Let’s hear it, folks. Any good stories about stiff corpses? Do you try to buy organic or local? Any gardeners in the SYSK Nation?
Finally, props once again to Parallax Kodachrome for his awesome Photoshop skills — this week it’s the SYSK team as Johnny Carson and Jack Hannah. Too cool.
