It is a well known fact that dimples on a golf balls significantly cut drag (see the video below for an explanation of why that happens). So it is fair to ask: Would it be possible to improve a car’s miles per gallon by adding dimples to its paint or sheet metal? Here’s the answer:

Definitely a good idea. But I feel adding dimples to the cars body might be costly.
