A quick scan of the news is often enough to confirm that we’re living in the end times: melting ice caps, failing economies, nuclear weapons tests and celebrity gossip covering all four top spots on the Yahoo front page. But hey, if you’re like me, you distract yourself with something else and get on with your life. Today, however, the news out of China is that they have a cat with wings.
So, I’m guessing you’re wondering what Ben and I have been talking about on iTunes over the past several days? Well, you’ve come to the right place! Your first step to reclaiming your renter’s deposit comes before you even move in: Request a walk-through with your landlord. Many landlords require this step anyways, but don’t let them move you through too quickly. Bring a camera and document any examples of wear and tear or damage that already exists. Put all of this in writing and have your landlord sign off on it.
