Interesting – NFL in 3D

DLP TVs and the some of the newer LCD TVs have enough speed to create an extremely good 3D display. Everyone watching the TV wears LCD shutter glasses that alternately show a frame to the left and right eyes. While these TVs are available and don’t cost any more than normal TVs, you would expect there to be a 3D explosion. The problem has been content, and standards. For example, there really isn’t a 3D broadcast standard right now.

The NFL, however, thinks that 3D might be great for the game, and is starting to experiment with 3D content. Here is one example:

If a big organization like the NFL got behind it, things might develop a lot more quickly.
