Funny…

Here’s the article, and it is funny, especially if you have kids:

Things One Learns from Raising Sons

Now is it true?

#1: Not true. A cubic foot contains 7.5 gallons of water. So if the water bed is 7 feet by 7 feet and 1 foot deep, we are talking about roughly 200 gallons of water. In a 2,000 square foot house, that means a tenth of a gallon per square foot throughout the house, which is a quarter of an inch, not 4 inches as advertised. But a quarter inch is still pretty impressive. I know my kids threw a ball at and broke a 10 gallon aquarium in our family room, and even 10 gallons of water goes a loooong way.

#2: Needs a source of ignition, but hair spray is quite combustible. It is a common fuel in potato cannons.

#3: True

#4: sounds doubtful. If the bucket spins in the air, the force of the spinning would keep the paint in the bucket. If it is tumbling on the floor, the walls probably aren’t the biggest concern.

#5: True, if the fan is on its highest speed.

#6: Probably true, although it is getting harder and harder to break modern windows.

#7: True.

In regard to #8 and #25, you need to use granulated chlorine like you would find at a pool supply store rather than liquid bleach like you would find at the grocery store, as demonstrated here:

#9: Probably false. 6-year-old boys can do many remarkable things. 6-year-old twins working together even more so. But you can’t do anything with a flint rock by itself. You need to have flint and steel. And you need to strike the steel with a lot of force. And you need to have a specially prepared place for the spark to land, and then coddle that spark into a fire. It seems highly unlikely a 6-year-old could pull that off, especially the striking force.

#10: True. For the record, multiple ingested magnets are bad and deserve a trip to the ER. They can pinch and kill sections of the small intestine.

And so on…
